I am Ellie Spruell, I have been a Psychotherapist since 2005 and I am co-founder of City Road Therapy.
I am UKCP accredited and abide by their code of ethics. I see adults and adolescents face to face, on a short and long term basis.
We can all struggle with emotional or relational difficulties or particular life events and we may need support from another person at these times. Whether you are in crisis or simply wanting some time to reflect, I aim to provide a down to earth, safe, and non-judgemental space in which you can express difficulties in your own time. I see it as my role to help you make more sense of your experience, feel better able to cope, sidestep old patterns and identify new possibilities.
I am an Integrative therapist meaning I draw from a variety of research validated theories and approaches on human development and relationship depending on what may work for each individual. The use of creative work (as used by Freud and Jung) and cognitive mapping (as in CBT) is one element of the approach I offer, these can support the exploration and communication of your experience.
I work privately and in the charity sector and have previously worked in schools, a mental health setting and higher education. I have had specialist training in working
with young people, survivors of sexual abuse and assault and people who have difficulties with low self esteem.
