My name is Sarah Tyerman. I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and group analyst.

I believe that unhelpful patterns can recur in our lives and often have their roots in early experiences within our social and family groups. Through providing a safe space in which we can work together, I will help you identify and then move towards changing those patterns.

I welcome your enquiry whatever the underlying cause. Areas of particular interest are:

• Threshold moments - moving into adult life, becoming or not becoming parents, leaving the world of work, ageing.
• Work-related problems and anxieties
• Identity and sense of belonging: working with people of different cultural origins or members of close-knit social groups
• Gender and sexual orientation

I offer both short-term and long-term work with individuals and groups. After an initial session, I can advise you on how best we can work together to achieve change.

I have worked in a range of settings, including the voluntary sector, the NHS and with training organizations. Earlier in my career, I worked in central government at a senior level as a policymaker.

My fee for individual work, including the initial session, is £60. The fee for group work is generally less than for individual work. Reduced fee places are available, depending on personal circumstances.
