I have been practicing as an integrative psychotherapist since 2004, working with both adults and adolescents in a broad range of settings including the NHS, charities and in private practice.
Individuals have come to me with a variety of different emotional and psychological difficulties. It may be that life has become a struggle for various reasons, or that you have experienced a traumatic life event. I can offer you a safe space where your story can be heard and you can explore the issues that may be troubling you or holding you back, in complete confidence and without judgement.
Integrative psychotherapy with Kay
I integrate different therapeutic theories and approaches. This way I can work flexibly so that I can be responsive to the needs and particular circumstances of each individual so that your own unique way of being with yourself and others can unfold and be met respectfully.
I began my career in the creative industry and believe in the power of the arts to deepen connection and understanding. I therefore offer use of the arts (image, metaphor, poetry, for example) as an extra tool to aid expression and exploration. Some clients prefer to stay with talking, and that is fine.
Since the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of therapy, the first session offers an opportunity to get to know each other a little in order to decide whether you feel comfortable working together.
I can work with you on a specific issue in the short term for 6-12 sessions, or longer term open-ended, with regular reviews to assess how the therapy is going.
