Therapy can be for anyone. It can be for growth, healing and learning, as much as for working through something. Choosing to set aside a pocket of time and space just for you, can provide relief from stresses of modern-day living, giving you a chance to recognise what is really important to you and working out what steps you want to take towards the life you want for yourself. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to explore things that are troubling you, process past experiences and work towards any goals you might have.
Psychotherapy with Léonie
I work using an integrative model which means I draw from a number of approaches and techniques. However, I do favour the psychodynamic approach, and attachment-based theories strongly influence my way of working. This means I believe childhood experiences and relationships (not just parental) can have a profound effect on how we function as adults.
Other influences in my work include mindfulness, mentalisation-based therapy, systemic therapy and internal family systems therapy.
In my private practice I work mostly with adults (mainly due to the hours I practice). I provide in-person and online sessions and I am happy to speak about long-term or short-term work. However, I find that longer term work with periodic reviews is more likely to result in lasting change.
