I am a BACP accredited counsellor committed to offering a safe, empathic space, free of judgement, where you are welcome to talk about and explore any issues that are causing you distress. I work with adults and see individuals face-to-face or online.
I have worked in a broad range of settings alongside my private practice, including the NHS, as well as different agencies and charities that provide low-cost counselling for a wide range of issues.
I am a humanistic/person-centred therapist. In our work together, I will not push or direct you but help you identify, understand and address any aspects in your life which you may find problematic or confusing. The goal is to empower and enable you to decide how to manage your life and meet life’s challenges with greater awareness of your resources and strengths.
Qualifications and experience
I have a BA (Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling from Middlesex University and a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the Metanoia Institute. I also have a certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.
Alongside my private practice I have worked in the NHS for several years, in primary care as well as for a London NHS Trust, which included working with people who have been affected by a diagnosis of cancer diagnosis. I also have extensive experience with bereavement issues.
My background is in the arts and in international human resources, where I gained an interest and experience in workplace issues and conflict resolution.
I am a naturalised German immigrant and I have lived and worked in different countries before settling in the UK, over 30 years ago. This gives me an awareness of cultural diversity and of different issues and feelings, such as feelings of isolation and loss of identity, which may occur after having uprooted to a new environment.
