My name is Chieh. I am a trainee counselling psychologist (MBPsS) as well as a registered counsellor (MBACP). I adhere to British Psychological Society (BPS) and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)’s ethical codes that include respecting confidentiality and having regular clinical supervision. I practice integratively drawing on a range of approaches (cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic, and systemic) to meet each person’s needs and best interests.
Integrative therapy with Yung-Chieh
Sometimes we may feel stuck with situations and/or people; we may also cling to thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that we do not want to let go. By working collaboratively in counselling, we may enable a shift in our mindset and make changes possible.
I am a registered counsellor (MBACP) and a trainee counselling psychologist (MBPsS). I am bound by BACP’s ethical codes that include respecting confidentiality and having regular clinical supervision.
I respect the uniqueness of each person, so I practice integratively drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to suit each person’s needs and goals. My counselling approaches are complemented by Eastern philosophies. As a counsellor, I value trusting and honest therapeutic alliance and aim to provide a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space, where people can be themselves, be heard and understood, and explore any present issues and/or something from the past.
I have worked with different mental health issues in a wide range of contexts – workplace, chronic illness, sexuality, relationship, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), stigma/prejudice/discrimination, racism, drug and alcohol recovery, domestic violence, sexual abuse – in the NHS, higher education, charity and private sectors. My experiences have strengthened my understanding of the complexity of mental health issues, individuality and difference, and humanity.
