I am an HCPC registered psychologist, associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and lecturer on the DPsych programme at City University. I work with adults and specialise in existential cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The reasons people seek therapy are often very varied. Some of the most common are: depression, anxiety, grief, anger, stress, lacking confidence, wanting greater self-awareness, relationship and career struggles, or generally feeling dissatisfied with the way things are.
Existential CBT with Alice
You may not be sure what’s wrong, just that you don’t feel great. Emotional distress shows itself in many different ways – in feeling tired, drained, confused, irritable, low in motivation and energy, having difficulty sleeping and feeling a bit out of control or stuck. Talking is a powerful tool in itself – it creates clarity and understanding – but therapy with me also offers the chance to learn new ways of approaching difficult experiences and emotions. My approach uses the insights from both existential psychology and CBT.
