I work as an integrative therapist, drawing largely from psychodynamic and systemic models. I will sometimes use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other approaches when I feel it fits with the person and the presenting problem.
I don’t think it’s important for someone to understand this type of terminology, instead I would offer the opportunity for you to trust your instincts and see if my way of working fits with you, at this point in time.
Integrative psychotherapy with Brian
I feel the relationship between the client and the therapist is vitally important in creating a therapeutic alliance. By using this interaction to refer to past, present ways of relating to others (and to parts of ourselves), I believe we can explore and work through a variety of problems.
