I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.  I follow an integrative perspective that is informed by the traditions of humanistic, psychodynamic, relational and behavioural psychologies.  For you as a client, this means that I have the benefit of being able to draw on different perspectives and methodologies in order to work with you and the difficulties you may be bringing in an appropriate way.

Integrative counselling and psychotherapy with Jo

I aim to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental setting in which we can focus on establishing a sense of trust and begin to work through your difficult thoughts and feelings to gain greater insight and understanding.  It is hoped that with such insights and a deeper exploration of self and the relationship you have with the world around you that you can begin to resolve some of what has been troubling you and live with a greater sense of wellbeing, choice, flexibility and meaning.

I have been working one to one with adults since 2007.  I usually work ‘open ended’, which means you have your agreed session time available for as long as you need it.  This can translate into working in the shorter, medium or longer term and we will work together to consider what might be right for you.  I typically work face to face with clients but it’s also possible to meet remotely over skype, so depending on your life and commitments this can help us to maintain regular contact.
