I am an integrative therapist working with adults in a safe and non-judgemental environment. The focus can be on exploring specific issues and problems or on gaining a deeper understanding of mental patterns, feelings and needs.
Integrative psychotherapy with Markus
I trained in an integrative approach, which uses the relationship between client and counsellor as the base for the journey together. Depending on the client I draw from different modalities, such as person-centred, mindfulness, cognitive and solution-focused theories, as I don’t believe that one approach fits all clients or all issues.
Our first meeting is a chance for you to tell me more about what brings you to counselling and what you expect to get from it. It also gives us the opportunity to find out if we think we can work together. The length of work together is determined in collaboration with the client and can last from a few weeks to an open ended, longer term commitment.
Qualifications and experience
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London and am also a fully accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework.
In addition to this I am undertaking continued CPD as part of my practice, which has included further study of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy.
The usual rate for a 50 minute session is £60, with a concessionary rate of £40 available for the unwaged, people on a low income or students. Availability will need to be discussed at the beginning of the work together.
