I am a BACP registered integrative therapist and I provide a warm, non-judgemental and inclusive space open to individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, orientations and abilities.
While our childhood experiences play a big part in shaping who we are today, I strongly believe that each of us has the capacity to bring about transformation in our life.
Whether you are dealing with long-standing difficulties that you feel limit your ability to live a fulfilling life or you are going through a difficult patch due to a specific experience or issue, I can help you by providing a safe space where you can voice what is going on for you. My aim is to facilitate a process where you can identify your needs and live a fuller and more authentic life.
Integrative therapy with Marta
As integrative therapist I draw on different approaches including psychodynamic and Gestalt. In order to better meet your needs and support your self-expression, when relevant I incorporate the use of images and symbols, dreams and art.
I work in a relational way which means that I believe that how you and I relate during the sessions can give us important insight into all relationships in your life, including how you see yourself. I believe that the quality of the authentic relationship we establish is at the core of the healing and transformative process.
Each journey of exploration and change is different and unique. I will be guided by what you bring to the sessions and we will work following your pace. At the same time, I will keep your aspirations and our goals for therapy in mind and might bring us back to them if necessary.
Qualifications and experience
I hold a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from CPPD (Centre for Personal and Professional Development) and a Foundation Course in Intercultural Psychodynamic Approaches from Refugee Therapy Centre.
My background as a counsellor involved working at ELMS (East London Mental Health Service), seeing clients from a variety of backgrounds and dealing with a broad range of mental health difficulties.
I worked for charities in the field of mental wellbeing for many years, supporting adults going through difficult and painful times in their lives. I have extensive experience in supporting people with a life-limiting or terminal illness and their families, from the point of diagnosis to end-of-life, and families going through bereavement. One of my areas of expertise is working with people affected by dementia. I also worked with migrants and refugees with experiences of trauma and living with complex mental health difficulties.
My fee is £65 for a 50 minutes session.
I have a limited number of reduced cost places for people who are unemployed or on a low income. Please enquire and I would be happy to discuss this over the phone or at our initial session.
