Therapy for individuals
Therapy is a safe and confidential space to come for professional support where you can talk about you, your life and any issues that might be causing you to have difficult thoughts or feelings.
Our therapists are highly skilled and will accept you the way you are. They will never judge you or your situation. All therapists are trained to help you to understand yourself more clearly and identify new possibilities in the way you approach your life.
Is therapy right for me?
Taking the first step and acknowledging you might benefit from therapy support is often what people find most difficult. Therapy can give you the breathing space to express difficulties and better manage them. You can then assess whether therapy feels a good choice for you.
Our therapists can help with any issues that are causing you difficulty. Most work with you as an individual, but we also have therapists who offer counselling for children, teenagers, couples or the family as a whole.
Which therapy approach is best?
Many of our therapists are ‘integrative’ therapists, meaning they may use more than one therapy approach, depending on your needs. For example, sessions may involve talking therapy or take a mindfulness-based approach. Some therapists incorporate creative techniques such as art, drama or movement. If you are feeling ‘stuck’ in your working life or life in general, you might find our executive and life coaches helpful. You can discuss the various therapy approaches with your therapist during your sessions together.
How do I choose a therapist?
Research shows you are more likely to benefit from therapy if you have a good relationship with your therapist. It is important you see someone who feels safe and who you can imagine opening up to. We encourage people seeking therapy to visit our therapist directory and perhaps phone several therapists to get a feel for whether you might be able to work together.
How will therapy make me feel?
Therapy is a personal process. People often find it a huge relief to have some time for support and self-exploration set aside each week.
It can sometimes feel painful to talk about the difficult aspects of your life, but our therapists will be able to support you through any difficult periods and go at your own pace. They will help you identify ways you can support yourself so you feel more resilient and potent in your life.
